Child Protection Training Workshop for Western and Lake-zone TEN/MET Members
Ten/Met is now implementing one of its thematic areas of the five-year strategic plan named Child Protection. Report findings like the VAC (Violence Against Children) – 2009, show there is an increasing case of child sexual abuses and mistreatment of the children at family and communities’ level.
To ensure that there is effective intervention to the communities on child protection, Ten/met secretariat conducted an assessment to its members to know their capacity on implementation of child protection programs and as a way forward from the assessment, conducting Training Workshops was essential in building their capacity specifically on Child Protection.
The first training workshop was launched in Mwanza where TEN/MET members of the Western zone and Lake zone participated in a 2 days training where members got the chance to reflect on the baseline assessment report, child protection Basic Concepts, project designs and implementation, share experiences and best practices with the main objective of learning from each other and aqcuiring additional skills so as to effectively implement child protection Interventions.
