The Sixth annual Quality Education Conference was held in Dar es Salaam from March 4th to 5th, 2013.
The event was held with the financial assistance of Oxfam GB and Pestalozzi Children's Foundation.

This year's theme was "Basic Literacy and Numeracy for All". There were four sub-themes:

Teacher education - pre and InSet
Literacy and numeracy on the school curriculum
Broadening the base for different literacies
Books and reading.

The Fifth Quality Education Conference was wrapped up on Friday, March 16, at the Blue Pearl Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The theme of this year's conference was "Trends in Teacher Professionalism in Tanzania".

Its purpose was to bring together key education stakeholders at different levels across organizations (schools to universities and NGOs) to share ideas and experiences and to work out ways to improve the situation through advocacy work.
