Children's Agenda

TEN/MET is a member of the Children's Agenda, a national coalition of organizations that are  campaigning to ensure children’s issues are reflected in the public eye and the commitments of future governments.

The Children’s Agenda is calling on leaders to invest in children because they are Tanzania’s future. Investing in education is central to this agenda.

We are currently calling on parliamentary candidates to show their commitment to children by pledging their support for The Children’s Agenda. By signing up, they agree to:

1. Invest to save the lives of children and women
2. Invest in good nutrition
3. Invest in better hygiene, sanitation and water supply in schools and health facilities
4. Invest in early childhood development Invest in quality of education for all children
5. Invest to make schools safe
6. Invest to protect infants and adolescent girls from HIV
7. Invest to reduce teenage pregnancy
8. Invest to protect children from violence, abuse and exploitation
9. Invest in children with disabilities

We encourage you to support this very exciting initiative by encouraging parliamentary candidates from your district or region to sign up to the Agenda. Candidates who sign up, will have their names published in the national press. We also ask readers to forward details to their own contacts and mailing lists.
